Strickland Heart Center
Heart disease is the number one killer of adults, not just in Gwinnett, but throughout the United States. We think it’s time for this to change.
Our 40,000-square-foot Strickland Heart Center, signifies Gwinnett Medical Center's commitment to leading the fight against cardiovascular conditions and heart disease, not just in Atlanta, but all of Georgia.
This revolutionary center was designed to provide the community with access to a comprehensive array of advanced cardiovascular services, including open heart surgery. The Strickland Heart Center is also home to some of the region’s top cardiologists and interventionalists. And our state-of-the-art operating rooms and cardiac catheterization laboratories feature the latest in surgical technology.
These services are in addition to our more than 20-year track record as one of the most respected cardiac programs in the Atlanta area. During this time, we have built an accredited Chest Pain Center in our Emergency Department, a cardiac wellness program certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation and a full range of cardiac diagnostic services.
While open heart surgery is the focal point of this center, it also encompasses other advanced heart and vascular services, including:
- Cardiac catheterization
- Pacemaker implantation
- Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)
- Vascular and arterial studies
Without the huge outpouring from the community, Gwinnett Medical Center’s Strickland Heart Center wouldn’t have been possible. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you again for your commitment and hard work.
